sir,

In the absence on leave of Lieut.Colonel D.G. Marshall, as it is probable that we shall be sending some candidates for appointment as Constables in the Hongkong Police Force to you for medical examination in the near future, we shall be glad if you will note that the Government of Hongkong require that the medical examination of such men should be of a very searching character, and that the standard of vision must be 6/6 for distant vision and that near vision should be normal. No one requiring glasses should be passed.

I am, Sir,

Your obedient servant,

for Crown Agents.

Dr. D.J.Graham
